LA Poker Classic to Begin Next Week
January 14, 2012Celebrating its 20th anniversary, LA Poker Classic will begin next week, on January 18th. The event will continue for 45 days and feature a wide range of poker tournaments. 50 different tournaments will take place during the event. Open poker events with varying limits and tournament entries will be conducted. The prize pool is expected to reach around $20 million.
The key attraction of the LA Poker Classic is its Classic Championship tournament. It will be based on No Limit Texas Hold’em. The prize pool of the tournament is expected to reach $6 million within the next few days. The No Limit Texas Hold’em tournament will attract the finest players in the world of poker. Gregory Brooks has already registered for the event. The player is referred to as the defending champion. He visited Commerce Casino in 2011 where he made a $1.6 million payday.
A Wide Range of Events to Feature in LA Poker Classic
A wide range of events will feature in the LA Poker Classic. Players with different choices will find something to suit their taste in the event. Knockout Bounty No Limit Hold’em, Limit Hold’em, Mega Satellites, 7-Card Stud, Doublestack and Omaha 8 or Better will feature in the LA Poker Classic. In addition, a single day event with a guaranteed prize pool of $6 million will also take place. A Facebook Fan tournament will be held on January 21st. The tourney is offering a guaranteed prize pool of $25,000.
LA Poker Classic has the Best Cash Game Selection
Brooks, the WPT champion, had been a part of LA Poker Classic last year. The player said that he was impressed with the variety of events hosted. The treatment of cash games was quite impressive. The cash game preferred by the player is Pot Limit Omaha. Brooks added that the championship was organized in an efficient manner.
