PokerStars WCOOP Main Event to Feature $10 Million

PokerStars WCOOP 2015PokerStars is no stranger to major poker events, from live events to guaranteed online events, the site continues to offer quality gaming options. Players are constantly visiting PokerStars to try out new and exciting gaming options from cash gaming to tournaments. Coming in in just a few days is the World Championship of Online Poker, with PokerStars already offering seats to the events as well as exciting details for the main event.

The most exciting news of the WCOOP is the main event. During the main event, players will pay a buy-in of $5,200 to compete for a share of the $10 million prize pool. The prize pool is so large and big that the winner will earn a 7 figure payday. The event will be giving away a seven figure prize for the eighth year in a row, which is just one reason why the WCOOP is one of the most anticipated PokerStars series of the year.

The main event will be a two day tournament and will start on September 27th at 14:30 et with step qualifiers already taking place at PokerStars. Players can buy-in their way into the qualifiers for just one Frequent Player Point, making it easy for members of PokerStars to qualify for the competition.

Little info has been released by PokerStars for the WCOOP since the series will not take place until September. However, if you take a look at last year’s schedule, one could expect this year to be the same. To fill in the gap until September, PokerStars is offering additional gaming options such as the Summer MTT Leader Board challenge.

The Summer MTT Leader Board takes place in three separate competitions with one taking place in June, one in July and one in August. Each month there will be $100,000 up for grabs with the top 100 players who earn the most points earning a cash prize. The winner of every leaderboard will take home $15,000 in prize money.

During the leaderboard competition, players will earn points based on the TLB formula. The top twenty tournaments of each player will be used to calculate the final positions on the leaderboard. Players will have plenty of time to take part in the competition to earn a cash prize or just have fun in the process.

During the month of June, players can also take part in the Zoom Accumulator Freerolls which offer $1,000,000 in total prize money. This option offers four freeroll tournaments with $250,000 in prize money guaranteed each. Players must win a hand of Zoom Poker at limits of $0.02/$0.05 or higher on a selected starting hand. As players achieve missions, 1,000 in chips will be added to the starting stack. Players can earn as many as 10,000 in chips during game play.

On the 14th of June, players will need to win a hand with Pocket Aces. On the 21st of June, players will need to earn a win with Seven-Deuce. On the 28th, players who have pocket kings will earn extra chips while pocket queens are the hand to win with on July 5th. Every freeroll will begin at 14:20 ET and will have manual registration. Players can get started today taking part in the many options available at PokerStars.

Stay tuned to find out just what PokerStars will be offering in the coming month as well as over the next few months. By September, you can have a seat to the WCOOP and be able to take part in guaranteed poker tournaments of the popular series.
